Richard and Elizabeth Gunner started Richard Gunner's Fine Meats as farmers, with the belief that the best quality produce begins at the farm. The business's very first brand, Coorong Angus Beef, was grown on the Gunner family farm at Meningie in that extraordinary and unique South Australian environment, the Coorong. Since then, Richard and Elizabeth have grown the business, now with a handful of Feast! Fine Foods butcher shops around South Australia with exceptional branded meat products from other dedicated South Australian producers. They also supply around 300 restaurants around Australia, from bakeries and pubs to some of the country's best known fine dining establishments.
Feast! Fine Foods specialises in heritage breed livestock including the English Longhorn, photographed here, which Richard and Elizabeth brought out from the UK and breed here in Australia. They also source breeds like Belted Galloway and South Devons, each with their own characteristics. With lamb, the black-faced Pure Suffolk Lamb is sought for the multi-award winning Pure Suffolk Lamb brand and Berkshire Pork is grown by a collection of South Australian growers committed to breeding heritage pigs.
Richard Gunner's Fine Meats supplies some of Australia's best restaurants, including Orana, Rockpool, Heston Blumenthals' The Fat Duck while it was in Melbourne and the four times Best Restaurant in the World, Noma, while it was in Sydney. With four Feast! Fine Food stores South Australian customers have the opportunity to enjoy this restaurant quality produce at home.
